MESIT’s Financial Support Brings Real Help to Young Patients
Last year, MESIT provided financial support to the Nezávodím – Pomáhám Foundation and its 700 Kilometres of Hope project, which helps children recovering from serious injuries with treatment and rehabilitation. Thanks to this cooperation, the first specialised medical device was delivered to Ostrava University Hospital just before Christmas.
The 700 Kilometres of Hope project began as both a sporting challenge and a symbol of solidarity. Runners Linda Tekeliová and Marek Svoboda covered 724 kilometres with 49,000 metres of elevation gain across the Swiss Alps. The goal was not to achieve athletic triumph, but to raise funds for rehabilitation equipment for injured children – and they succeeded!
Thanks to the joint efforts of donors, a total of CZK 800,000 was raised, enabling the purchase of a Thera Trainer Bemo device. The equipment has been handed over to the Department of Paediatrics at University Hospital in Ostrava and is already helping young patients to regain their mobility. It represents the first tangible outcome of the entire project.
The fundraising continues this year with the aim of acquiring another important device to further expand rehabilitation care for young patients. We are proud that our support has a direct impact on the treatment of children recovering from injuries. Watch the handover video and support the project!
